Featured coffee: Talor Made Ethiopia Apricot and Elderflower

This washed Ethiopian coffee was roasted by Talor Made in Oslo, Norway.  Their tasting notes are apricot and elderflower. We chose to brew this coffee on the Kone with a 1:15 ratio of coffee to water.

Our recipe:

20g coffee — medium grind
300g water — just off boil

30 second bloom (50g)
Finished pouring at 2:10
Finished draining at 2:35

Tasting notes:

A light, bright, and fruity washed coffee from Ethiopia. When hot the coffee has herbaceous notes of mint, lemongrass, and lavender. As it begins to cool, flavors of citrus and stone fruit emerge: think clementine, plum, and apricot. The finish of the coffee again hints toward the floral and herbaceous side, complimented by a simple and lingering sugarcane flavor.

Our take:

A nice example of a washed Ethiopian coffee — fruity, floral, and herbal in equal quantities.
